Today we took advantage of the thaw so that we could reach the villages that we could not access these weeks because of the snow and the frost. And it was really thawing, the waters were flowing in the middle of the road to say that the tap had been turned on. Oh, wonderful flick! And how awful it is when you’re not wearing properly shoes .
Because we lacked the shoes from the gifts we brought here. I took instead clothes, some food and money where it was the case for medical emergencies or wood. It was a beautiful atmosphere today, the smiling children, the happy adults that we broke through to them, no one thought that we went to do well.
We were invited to the houses. “Come on, ma’am, and see how I’m doing!”
In addition, the phrases I hear most often are:
“I have to take the child to the hospital but I don’t have money to arrive there!”
“I didn’t take him to school because he didn’t have boots.”
Do the children have food? “Oh, I made them a stew the other day.”
“Don’t you have any more beds to wrap?” We don’t always make a fire, we stay under the blanket to warm ourselves. “
We gave everything we had to give and we returned exactly when the wonderful sunset crowned our daytime work. We haven’t done much, but it’s so nice to know that we are fulfilling our mission.
